Hey all; before I get to the point, I would like to preface with a potential spoiler warning, this is based off of a handful of leaks that have arisen in recent weeks/months. Those of you who don't want to hear about them in the event that they are going to be in the movie should steer clear of this thread. To serve as a buffer between this paragraph and the spoiler section for those wandering the board, some screenshots of the movies that I took during my latest marathon of the old trilogy:
Everything below this point pertains to potential spoilers for Jurassic World: Dominion, carry on at your own risk.
The following creatures were built using the game Spore, reflecting how I attempted to recreate the Carnotaurus, Baryonyx and Stygimoloch from JW:FK when they were leaked in April of 2017; however, I have learned from my mistake of using the descriptions provided to shape a picture of what I would want to see from the dinosaurs, and have instead tried to come up more realistic portraits of what the dinosaurs may or may not look like in the films. In the order given in the one leak:
Therizinosaurus
"It's a theropod with a long neck and big claws."
Giganotosaurus
I can't see them too badly screwing up a Giganotosaurus, so I just went with something a little bit bland but still clearly carcharodontosaurian.
Pyroraptor
I made two versions of the Pyroraptor; one giving it the lowest possible amount of feathers (plural "feathers") and the other aping Discovery's Dinosaur Planet.
Deinonychus
Instead of recreating the raptors from Jurassic Park III, I chose to take away all of the birdlike traits that make Deinonychus important and replace them with traits from lizards, amphibians and fish. "Our velociraptors are accurate depictions of Velociraptor mongoliensis, darn it!"
Dimetrodon
Even I'll admit that I might have gone a little overboard here.
Microceratus
Similar deal here.
Spinosaurus
The crème de la crème; instead of just remaking the one with Jurassic Park III, I decided to go with a more JW:FK Baryonyx-y take.
I could make more serious and more optimistic renditions of the dinosaurs if I wanted, but I thought it would be fun to just make some abominations; maybe I'm setting myself up to be pleasantly surprised by the real designs, who knows.
