Allison, along with her friends, would often tease Kelly Curtis that she was a 'brainer' or that Kelly was too smart, particularly liking mathematics. Allison and her gang would tease Kelly with a chant that went, "Kelly is a brainer....She's the queen...of the Screen...and it's gonna turn her green......" If they saw Kelly with her best friend Arby Benton, they would continue the chant, singing, "Kel-ly and Ar-by...going to a party...take a bath, in their math...." The school's assistant principal, Mr. Canosa had warned all students not to tease others and that made no difference. The hall monitor, Miss Enders also failed to stop Allison and her group from teasing Kelly.[1] Kelly would later recount this teasing to her idol Dr. Sarah Harding and in response, Harding would comfort Kelly, telling her that humans were full of misinformation.[2]
