The Amber Clave Night Market, also known as the Amber Clave Underground Market, is an illegal market of prehistoric creatures located in the catacombs of Valletta, Malta.

Description[]

The underground market is the central hub for the dinosaur black market in the world. Various dinosaurs are sold illegally here. Locusts and lampreys are served as food, dinosaur eggs and handbags made of dinosaur pelts are also sold in the black market.

History[]

The market was set up by Lewis Dodgson and Biosyn who sold it to Soyona Santos as a part of their new partnership.

After Maisie and Blue's daughter, Beta, are taken by Biosyn's hired guns, Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and Barry Sembène track them to Malta, where they discover a dinosaur illegal market that was secretly created by Lewis Dodgson. As Claire and Owen disrupt the market, dinosaurs are unintentionally released, causing havoc. As Owen interrogated Delacourt who was later killed during the chaos, Claire incapacitates and interrogates Biosyn ally Soyona Santos, who reveals that Maisie and Beta are being transported to Biosyn’s headquarters in Italy's Dolomites mountain range. While at the market, they meet Kayla Watts, a sympathetic pilot who delivers the live cargo for market vendors and has access to Biosyn HQ. Later after the incident, the market presumably became inactive from now on.

  • In the junior novelization of the film, it is stated that the “1000 Kilograms of Dinosaur” that marketeer Wigi wants Kayla Watts to transport to Palermo was Elmisaurus.
  • A Stegosaurus animatronic can be seen in several behind the scenes photos, but was absent from the final cut.
  • Lewis Dodgson calls it the Amber Clave Underground Market in "The Queen's Court."
