The American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) is a species of frog native to eastern North America, but has become an invasive species in other continents. It is used by humans as food and for dissection in science classes. It is an ambush predator and has been recorded to prey on other smaller animals aside from insects, including other frogs and toads.
Bullfrogs are shown to have sexual dimorphism: the males are smaller than the females and have yellow throats. During the mating season, males American bullfrog do choruses to attract a mate and warn off rivals.
