In Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, the Avoidance Beacon is a researchable security measure. It will cause dinosaurs to avoid the area surrounding it.
Characteristics[]
A type of device that gives off a sonar, avoidance beacons are a necessity in case of theropods breaking out of their pens, though harmless dinosaurs are also effected. Avoidance beacons are most useful if placed around Visitor Shelters where the majority of people can be safe. They also come in handy for safari-rides by being placed beside the van's route and kept active during a tour.
While generally intended to repel dinosaurs from people, it isn't always foolproof: some dinosaurs will approach them anyway and may destroy them, and they have no effect on tornadoes.
