Bakhita (nicknamed by Gerry Harding) is a young friendly female Triceratops that is first encountered during the Gate Crashers scenario.

Biography[]

Creation[]

Bakhita was re-created with prehistoric DNA from mosquitoes and raised on Isla Sorna. She was then transported to Isla Nublar to be used as an attraction for Jurassic Park. At one point, Lady Margaret, the alpha-female, took her on as her own child, even though Bakhita was not really her daughter (technically her older sister/clone).[1]

Isla Nublar Incident (1993)[]

When the power was shut off, Bakhita was able to open the gate to her enclosure in pursuit of a tasty banana tree branch. Later, Gerry Harding and his daughter attempted to scare Bakhita back into the enclosure. They succeeded, but inadvertently provoked the alpha-female Lady Margaret, who charged in defense of Bakhita. Later, the park's Tyrannosaurus came and fought with Lady Margaret. It is possible that they had both withdrawn from the fight, as Lady Margaret's body was nowhere to be found and the T. rex still seemed to be hungry later on.

It's unknown what happened to her after the Isla Nublar Incident of 1993.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

She is possibly based on Ralph, a young Triceratops who had appeared in the novel and had developed a similarly benevolent relationship with the character Lex Murphy, whom appeared in the Jurassic Park novel.
