Bellusaurus (meaning "Beautiful lizard") is an extinct genus of sauropod dinosaur that lived in China during the Middle Jurassic period.
This Chinses dinosaur from midway in the Jurassic was an ancestor of truly giant plant-eaters. Like latter and larger four legged herbivores, Bellusaurus was a sauropod. Sauropods had tiny heads and weak teeth. Many relied on stomach stones to help them grind their food.
Bellusaurus was featured in the Jurassic Park Institute now available to browse on Dinopedia.
