Brothers is the fourth episode of the first season in the Netflix series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. The episode was released on May 24, 2024.
Synopsis[]
The crew arrives in Colorado to warn Kenji, who's still punishing Darius about the past. Sammy and Ben leave the group to go look for Yaz.
Plot Summary[]
The episode opens with Darius awakening in the back of Ben’s van as the group drive on. Ben confesses to being nervous about Bumpy, but Darius reassures him. Darius finally agrees with Ben that they are being hunted. Sammy expresses concern that Yaz is not responding to her. Just then, they pull over to the side as they witness DPW trucks taking dinosaurs down the highway, and Darius sees the blind Allosaurus among them, causing him to flashback to the time of Brooklynn’s death briefly.
Just as they begin to move on, a few Parasaurolophus cross the road, with Darius observing they missed a few. The group arrives at Kenji’s place, revealing he lives in a trailer. They try knocking to no response, but Kenji surprises them from behind and is accidently kicked over by Sammy. Kenji catches up with Ben and Sammy, but reacts coldly to Darius, slamming the door on him.
Kenji greets them, explaining he has started a new business as a climbing instructor. Ben warns Kenji about the danger, but the other man disregards him initially. They show Kenji the map, but he doesn’t have an idea about what it represents, but reveals that the marked location on the map is where his father lives. As the group feel the trailer shaking, they initially panic, but it turns out to be a nearby herd of Parasaurolophus running by.
The children initially suspect Daniel Kon, but Kenji states that his father was placed in a halfway house after prison, and is too monitored to have been responsible. Kenji storms out of the trailer angrily and wanders off into the woods. Sammy grabs the keys as she runs to the van to go look for Yaz, and Ben follows her, leaving Darius to go after Kenji.
Darius follows Kenji’s trail as the others drive off. He witnesses Kenji climbing a cliff face and is forced to climb up after him. Kenji keeps climbing even as he notices Darius following him, but Darius persists. Just as Darius appears to slip, Kenji comes down and asks him about the past, and Brooklynn. Darius and Kenji argue about Brooklynn, and Darius is forced to go to the summit by himself.
Looking down at the herd of Parasaurolophus, Kenji has a flashback to a date he and Brooklynn shared together. He recalls breaking up with her, as he perceived that she wasn’t physically present with him during their time together. While he is reminiscing, Darius finally makes it to the top of the cliff, and rests a moment as they both stare at the herd below. The two of them talk, and after some more arguing, Kenji agrees to go visit his father together.
That night, the DPW agents surround Bumpy and attempt to capture her.
