Caiuajara (the "J" is pronounced the same as in English) is a genus of tapejarid pterosaur from the Early Cretaceous period (Aptian to Albian stages) of Brazil. It is known from a single type species, Caiuajara dobruskii. It was initially believed that this pterosaur lived in the Late Cretaceous (in the Santonian stage). However, given that other pterosaurs from the area where Caiuajara was discovered are from the Early Cretaceous, this was proven wrong. The environment of this pterosaur was a desert.
Caiuajara was a frugivore, meaning it ate fruits. At such, scientists also consider the tapejaridae as frugivores.

Caiuajara appears in Jurassic World Evolution 3 as a new species. This is the first time it has appeared in a game. However, it is incorrectly portrayed as a carnivore when in reality it is likely to be an herbivore.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition[]
Caiuajara appear in Jurassic World: The Exhibition as an amber sample containing preserved DNA. It is not named, being referred as a pterosaur from the Araripe Basin, Brazil. Given that Caiuajara was the only known pterosaur from that area when the exhibition opened, the DNA sample most likely belonged to it.
