Champsosaurus is a genus of reptile that lived during the late Cretaceous and early Paleogene periods in what is now North America, as well as Europe. While it looks like a crocodile, it is a choristodere, which ranged from the middle Jurassic to the Miocene. Its morphology resembles that of a gharial, and most likely preyed on fishes, like them. The reptile appears to be adapted for aquatic life.
Fossils of Champsosaurus have been found in famous geological formations like Hell Creek, Horseshoe Canyon, and Dinosaur Park.

Champsosaurus was confirmed to appear in Jurassic World Survival after an official Mattel Amazon listing. This is the first time it has appeared in the Jurassic Park franchise as well as a toy.
