The common carp (Cyprinus carpio), also known as the European carp, Eurasian carp, or simply carp, is a species of carp that lives in lakes and large rivers of Europe and Asia. Being introduced into environments worldwide, it is considered a destructive invasive species. It is the third most frequently introduced fish worldwide. Common carps can be bred with goldfishes to create the Kollar carp.
The common carp is mainly used in aquaculture as meat. They also produce a million eggs in one year, though this fish has many predators. Eggs and fry fall victim to predators, bacteria and fungi.
