David Koepp (born June 9, 1963) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, actor and composer who wrote the scripts for Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park — he also had cameo in the latter film in which he plays an unfortunate San Diego resident who gets singled out and devoured by the rampaging Tyrannosaurus rex. He was also the film's second unit director.
Other notable films Koepp has written include Carlito's Way (1993), Mission: Impossible (1996), Snake Eyes (1998), Spider Man (2002), War of the Worlds (2005), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). As a director he has helmed films such as Secret Window (2004), Ghost Town (2008), and Mortdecai (2015).
Koepp is the sixth most successful screenwriter of all time in terms of U.S. box office receipts, having grossed over $2.3 billion.
It has been confirmed that he will write Jurassic World: Rebirth.
