Daylight is the eighth chapter in the Sixth Configuration. The helicopter takes off despite Harding's attempts to signal it, Kelly finds a boathouse on the computer screen and as daylight breaks, raptors attack the store.
Plot[]
Sarah Harding learns from Doc Thorne that they can't communicate with the helicopter and learns where the landing spot is. As she drives, she can only heard the sound of the blades and finds she's not making any trail for dinosaurs to pursue her. In the store, Richard Levine know realizes that daylight means their location is extremely vulnerable to other dinosaurs since the chameleon-like Carnotaurus have disappeared. He is interrupted as Harding radios, informing them she now spots the helicopter. A narrow junction forces her to drive slower and when she nears the helicopter it takes off. She honks rapidly, stick out through the window and waves, yet the pilots fly the helicopter away.
Levine speaks to himself that Harding should return then tells Thorne how they are vulnerable to other dinosaur attacks and really need to escape. Kelly Curtis, at the computer console, fingers the dirtied paper with the password, wishing her idol Harding was around to guide her. She was now nearing panic given the loss of the helicopter and how Thorne and Levine were arguing. Levine remarks they should return to the last trailer which Kelly silently detested. As she tucks the paper under the keyboard, she sees writing that she remembers - it were sets of words and lines Arby Benton recovered the data from the old computer in Levine's apartment two days ago. She signals Doc Thorne pointing at the word 'BOATHOUSE' and he tells her to find it. Meanwhile, Harding informs Thorne she has to stop as the Tyrannosaurus rex is in in front of her. She notices Lewis Dodgson is still in its mouth and the T.rex carries him into the jungle. Kelly has found an image of the boathouse which shows a not-so-rundown shed with a powerboat tied up and one side leading to a river. Thorne asks her to find a map where it is located and now Arby is awake. Levine indicates how weak the store is and a Velociraptor proves him right, breaking down the lock.
