Desmatosuchus is an extinct archosaur that lived in Texas during the Late Triassic period. It is an archosaur that belong to the order Aetosauria and is related to Typothorax. The only major difference between these two is that Desmatosuchus has two big spikes on each side at the end of the neck. First discovered in the 19th century by Edward Drinker Cope, it was referred to as Episcoposaurus haplocerus. It was named in 1920 and got its scientific name (Desmatosuchus spurensis) in 1921 by Case. Another species of Desmatosuchus, called D. smalli, was described in 2005 by Parker.

Desmatosuchus appears in the Jurassic World Dominion Prehistoric Projector Kit from the Smithsonian Museum where it is showcased in an illustration as a corpse being held by a Smilosuchus and a Chindesaurus.
