Dodgson II is the tenth chapter in the Fourth Configuration. Here, Dodgson finally reveals his evil plan.

Plot[]

Lewis Dodgson starts the custom-made jeep Wrangler and Howard King seating next to him, expresses his displeasure of Dodgson throwing Sarah Harding overboard. George Baselton, sitting behind, asking what they are talking about, haven't seen what previous happened. Dodgson tries to dismiss it as an accident, and Baselton repeats he didn't see anything. King still expresses his strong disagreement, wondering if an investigation would be conducted. In response, Dodgson spews out a lie that it was rough seas and they did try to search for her. His devilish nature is revealed with the last sentence, "So what are you concerned about?" Yet King still expresses his disagreement with Dodgson saying King never saw what actually occurred. King again wonders if an investigation might arise, however, Dodgson remarks that Harding left Africa in a hurry, not tell anyone where she was heading.

Dodgson then asks King to take the map out and stop moaning, He reminds King what he signed up for when he joined Dodgson. King still complains but Dodgson repeats himself. Dodgson expresses his arrogance, stating he knows what he's doing unlike Ian Malcolm and Doc Thorne, stating those two are playing a fool on the island. King wonders if the three of them will meet those two and again Dodgson counter argues. He states they will stay on Isla Sorna for only four hours, return to the boat by five, return to port by seven, and land at San Francisco by midnight. He confidently says he will acquire what he wanted after many years with Baselton adding dinosaur embryos. King wonders in response, however, Dodgson evil plan is finally revealed: he doesn't want dinosaur embryos, instead, their fertilized eggs.

He adds he knows the location of every dinosaur breeding site. King reads the map which states, "Sigma data Landsat/Nordstat mixed spectra VSFR/FASLR/IFFVR" and identifies dates. Dodgson remarks they are infrared satellite data which he acquired across satellite flybys over the last two years. He explains enormous animals have huge heat signatures and the circles on the map indicate nesting sites, yet King says they may be feeding sites. Dodgson says no, explaining the dinosaurs weigh a lot and that means "a combined biomass of more than half a million pounds" further indicate animals moving. King is still unsure, yet Dodgson points out the animals, particularly the herbivores, eat a few leaves and move. He notes the first of the nests are just over this rise, and down the hill on the other side.
