Ed James is a Biosyn spy.
In The Lost World[]
He was hired by Lewis Dodgson to follow around the survivors of Isla Nublar in order to get (more) information about Site B, being paid $500 a day. He apparently did not enjoy his job very much, and found it not worth his payment. During his work, he quickly grew a clear five-o'clock-shadow. He hated following scientists around, because he thought that it was very boring. For example, that he once went to one of Dr. Ellie Sattler's lectures about prehistoric pollens and the Campanian-Maastrichtian Boundary. He is shown to be very afraid of Lewis Dodgson, even going so far as fearing that he will be killed by Dodgson. However, he later becomes reassured when he realizes that George Baselton is with Dodgson and can keep him at bay. James did not travel to Isla Sorna.
In The Lost World: Jurassic Park[]
Ed James, like many novel characters, was written out of the movie. However, a few of his personalities were transferred to a few other characters, most notably Peter Ludlow. Like him, Ludlow was cowardly, conniving, and not very intelligent.
