Zhao works as a reporter for NowThis, a progressive social media-focused news organization. In early 2022, she presented what happened after Isla Nublar's downfall and Lockwood Manor's dinosaur outbreak in 2018, explaining that although the larger predators have been captured and relocated, other dinosaurs remained in Big Rock National Park, near the Manor, having encounters with humans. She went on explaining that a global illegal market had risen. In order to combat illegal poachers, the U.S. Congress granted Biosyn the rights to house the dinosaurs in their sanctuary and study them.
After the Biosyn incident, Dr. Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, Ramsay Cole, and Ian Malcolm testify against Biosyn, with Zhao explaining what happened later on, including the eradication of the locust problem.
