Gigantophis was a genus of snake that lived in Northern Africa during the Eocene about 40 million years ago. It was far larger than modern snakes and estimated to be one of the largest of all time, reaching lengths of over 20 feet long. It has been known to prey on Moeritherium.

Trivia[]
- Gigantophis is placed in the herbivore section of the caverns alongside the armadillos and ground sloths, instead of the carnivore section alongside the dog-like mammals and other large snakes. It's unknown why this was done.
