The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), also known as the green turtle, black turtle, black sea turtle, or Pacific green turtle, is an aquatic reptile that feeds on marine vegetation such as seagrass. The species typically lives near coral reefs in topical and subtropical oceans, and has two distinct populations, an Atlantic population, and a Pacific population.
