Harding II is the seventh chapter in the Fourth Configuration. After learning Harding's background, Dodgson throws her overboard.
Plot[]
This chapter begins with Sarah Harding on the boat looking out at the stormy sky and her first glimpse of Isla Sorna. She next turn to see Lewis Dodgson and Howard King in deep conversation. Harding sees Dodgson place his hand around King's shoulder in an attempt to calm King down. Harding is also suddenly worried as the duo were ignoring the jeep and the equipment around it, unlike how worried they were previously. Harding previously shook hands with the third man, Baselton, whom is below decks and she suspected he is seasick. Harding became further suspicious of the boxes marked Biosyn, as she never heard of that corporation or how Ian Malcolm or Richard Levine have been associated with it. She also started to feel the trio are too rigid to be friends, though she knew Malcolm had strange friends.
Dodgson suddenly closes in on her and she asks about Biosyn. He lies, telling her it was just a small company focused on consumer biologicals and pecialize in recreational and sports organisms. They then discuss Malcolm, with her stating she had no knowledge how Malcolm injured his leg in the park failure and she revealing her association with Malcolm. Dodgson quickly learns she works alone in Africa as the weather clears up and she is single. He suddenly describes Isla Sorna to her then learns what time she left Africa and even that she did not confirm with Levine she would arrive. Dodgson kept talking to her until she temporarily loses balance and he catches her and throws her overboard.
