Grant on River

Early Concept Art of Alan Grant and the kids on what would become the Jungle River Cruise

The Isla Nublar River is an artificial river that appears in the first novel, described as a being narrow, a few metres wide and a few metres in depth. This was to be where the tracks for the Jungle River Cruise would be installed for tour boats to move first along the river, and into the aviary and Pteratops Lodge.  It has a few related segments, such as:

  • The Watering Hole, a vast area in the middle of the carnivore and the swamp country of sauropods. It is considered a very deep place.
  • An artificial waterfall. Below, it contains drivers and a conduit to the pool of jeeps.
