Isla Tacaño (Spanish for tacaño, “stingy”) is an island of the Muertes Archipelago. English speakers assume that there is some deadly connotation for the word in Spanish, perhaps relating to avarice, one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

History[]

Past[]

Isla Tacaño has suffered many volcanic eruptions within its history. One particularly big and powerful one created the island of Isla Peña hundreds of years ago.

1526 (disputed)[]

The Muertes Archipelago including Isla Tacaño was discovered.

InGen[]

Isla Tacaño was acquired by InGen in the year 1985.[1] However, nothing is known about what was done with the island if anything, and there is likely no dinosaur activity.

Games[]

Isla Tacaño is the first island the player gains access to in Jurassic World Evolution, after reaching three stars on the previous island of Isla Muerta, and reaching three stars on Tacaño itself gives access to Isla Peña. The island also has a research facility map which appears in the Secrets Of Dr. Wu DLC.

Trivia[]

  • Isla Tacaño was arguably the most dangerous island in the Muertes Archipelago before being purchased by InGen. This is due to its active volcano that periodically erupts.
