Juan Antonio Bayona is a Spanish film director, who directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. He is known for many movies, such as The Impossible, The Orphanage, and A Monster Calls - the latter of which impressed Jurassic Worlds Filmmakers into getting the Spanish Director to direct the 5th instalment of the franchise.
Bayona intended to incorporate more practical effects into Fallen Kingdoms production - a tactic he's very familiar with. For instance, in The Impossible, many of the tsunami scenes were filmed in real life and without using CGI.
