The Lost World Jurassic Park Comic Adaption (1997)[]

The baby rex appears in 3/4 of the comic adaptions of The Lost World Jurassic Park. Its first appearance is in the nest, feasting on the rotting leg of some unknown creature when it is spotted by Roland Tembo and Ajay Sidhu. The two hunters take the baby Rex back to camp to wear Roland chains it up to a wooden post to lure the adult into his rifle sites.

A drunken Ludlow appears on the scene, exclaiming, how useless of an idea, trying to use a baby Rex to lure the adult is, and how great of an idea it would be for him to be able to use it for his park in San Diego. Only for an unknown creature in the foliage to scare Ludlow back and accidentally have them step on the babies leg, breaking it.

Once Nick Van Owen and Sarah Harding sabotage the hunters camp, Nick grabbed the baby and brings it back to the trailers to try and mend it wounds. However, before they can fully finish, the adults come knocking. And, after reacquiring their offspring, they destroy the trailers and kill Eddie Carr.

Through unexplained means, Junior is recaptured by the hunters and flown in on Ludlow private jet to San Diego. Where he would be used by Malcolm and Sarah to lure its parent back to the boat to be sent back to Sorna. By the end of the story, the baby and its due parents would presumably live in peace on the island.

Notes:
  • Within the comics, the baby Rex has a defined revenge story against Ludlow, considering he broke its leg and how its father broke Ludlow‘s leg.
  • The young Rex is a solid green color with a tan underside.

Jurassic Park: Redemption[]

In the Jurassic Park: Redemption comic series, the young Rex is briefly seen in a flashback with its sedated father, as Peter Ludlow details how he survived the event of the second film.

Notes:
  • Like nearly all characters and dinosaurs within the Jurassic Park redemption story, junior, hardly resembles his film counterpart, even lacking so much as basic ontogeny.
