Jurassic Park is an action platformer game released for the SEGA Game Gear and Master System.

Story[]

Gameplay[]

There are four main areas which can be played in any order:

The final stage is the Visitor Center/Tyrannosaurus, unlocked by finishing all levels without losing a continue. If the player does lose a continue, the T. rex remains on the loose, indefinitely postponing Jurassic Park's grand opening.

Each area begins with a rail-shooter "vehicle stage" where the player must fend off attacking dinosaurs while driving to the location. Defeated dinosaurs will sometimes drop a gas can, which increases the player's life gauge by one unit (up to a maximum of five) for the duration of the area. If the player does not deplete their life gauge during this segment, they will fight a boss dinosaur, which provides a large point reward if successfully defeated.

The second half of each area consists of a platforming "action stage" in which the player controls Grant (in the Master System version) or an unidentified female protagonist (in the Game Gear version). This segment concludes with a boss fight against the dinosaur for which the area is named.
