From time to time people ask about how this wiki started etc. Therefore this page is made.
So far, our story started back in 2006 and has continued for 16 years...
Master Cheif was the user who started this wiki at July 5, 2006. He created the first few articles and made 56 edits. His last edit was made at 19:45, August 1, 2006. After that he disappeared, leaving his user page deserted, until he seemed to return after 12 years...
Master Cheif never appointed any Administrators, so the wiki Park Pedia was ruled by chaos.
On January 20, 2007, Vinny2 joined the wiki. Vinny would really make a difference. He has made 1,367 constructive edits. He noted very soon this wiki was leaderless, so he volunteered. On April 21 Sannse (A FANDOM staff member) gave him admin rights. With this new power, he could make bigger changes to Park Pedia.
ZEM became a user at Park Pedia on November 27, 2008. ZEM would make 465 good and constructive edits.
By the start of 2009 Vinny2 was not very active on Park Pedia anymore. He would later write: "I haven't made any edits in a long time because I have other websites that are a priority for me." ZEM "promised" to take care of the wiki. But to make ZEM an admin, Vinny2 needed more rights. Therefore, on January 29, 2009, Uberfuzzy (from Wikia) made him Bureaucrat. With his new rights Vinny2 made ZEM an admin on February 2, 2009; because "He's promised to help".
On April 26, My Name Is Tom joined the wiki. Tom wanted to change the wiki's layout fundamentally. But to do this, Tom had to be an admin, and ZEM had no rights to make Tom an admin. Vinny2 had left Park Pedia, therefore they had to ask Wikia again. CatherineMuno (from Wikia) gave ZEM Bureaucrat rights on May 19. On May 22 ZEM made Tom administrator, "Per great work on wiki."
ZEM became inactive and was no longer into Jurassic Park. On July 7 2010, he made the more active user, MismeretMonk an admin and bureaucrat. My Name Is Tom left the wiki and has never returned, later on October 15, ZEM left this wiki and retired from adminship.
Over the next seven years, Mismeretmonk (later named Bastionmonk), appointed many new administrators, such as CrashBash. Numerous administrators however, such as TheXenomorph1, Jurassic Park Treasury, John Alfred Hammond CEO and Starscream7 left the wiki and became inactive. Despite this, along with the help of CrashBash, Collector1, and others, BastionMonk kept the wiki growing. Eventually, however, Collector1 left the wiki and has never returned, and slowly, Bastionmonk became less and less active. It seemed the wiki was going to go into another dark age...
Eventually, on the 10th of April 2018, he announced his resignation, saying he would appoint CrashBash as a Bureaucrat. Along with this, several other members requested to become admins, but this never came to fruition. CrashBash as well stayed an admin for a period of time. CrashBash then appointed Animalman57 as a discussions moderator. The wiki remained like this for a while, with only two admins keeping the site running. Then, on the 28th of July, Carnotaur, requested bureaucrat and admin rights to help the Wiki. Of course, he did not contribute enough to be granted the rights. After his attempt failed, CrashBash himself stopped waiting for BastionMonk to give him his Bureaucrat rights, after it being recommended to him, and had it requested. However, as if by magic, Bastionmonk came back to the wiki and appointed CrashBash as a bureaucrat. Later on, CrashBash appointed Animalman57 as a new admin.
Afterwards, Carnotaur came to CrashBash, and asked him for the requirements of becoming a Discussions and Chat Moderator. CrashBash gave Carnotaur the rights, stating, "In all fairness, I could use one".
After this several users were appointed as admin's, along with Animalman57, who to this day, has made the most constructive edits to the website. Along with this, Dinosaurus1 became a Moderator along with Carnotaur. One of the big changes occurred, was when CrashBash decided to block Anonymous I.P. users for the safety of the site. This idea was proposed by Carnotaur, and BattleshipMan. Along with this, Crypman8 created the wiki's first Discord server. Carnotaur continued the help the site, by keeping it clean from spammers and vandalizing users. He took part in many ”edit wars”, and blocking of many wrongful users. He did this with the help of BattleshipMan.
Then, out of the blue, Mastercheif apparently reappeared under the name of MindYerOwnParsley005 in 2018. He made numerous edits and became a member of the wiki once again, before leaving later that year.
During 2019, the wiki was finally back in its golden age, thanks to the efforts of many people...
At this time, CrashBash appointed Carnotaur to be the creator of an updated wiki policy. This idea was proposed by Crypman8 to Carnotaur. Crypman8 went mostly inactive soon after...
After this, CrashBash announced that he would step down as a Bureaucrat. This marked a new transition in the wiki. Due to false accusations from a spamming hacker, who made it his job to bring down the site. He wanted to ban all staff for no apparent reason. Shutting down CrashBash was his main focus, and eventually, he vanished, many sock-puppet accounts later. It was a very tense time for the wiki, considering that the FANDOM Staff could potentially believe these lies. The user's worst act was to hack the wiki, but the damage was fixed by Animalman57, and Carnotaur. He continued to attack the site for months on end, and the problems are currently still going on, as he continues to make new accounts. It was later discovered that this user was NOT the only one. In fact, it was found that three different users were involved and had put together a Discord server dedicated to the banning of CrashBash, and the Discord was the Wiki’s own. Later on, it was exposed that Crypman8 was the starter of all these schemes and that he had started the Discord for the purp of getting rid of CrashBash. Crypman8 later apologized for what he had done and went completely inactive.
Before CrashBash left, he made massive changes: he made Dinosaurus1 a Bureaucrat, along with Animalman57. Then, he made BattleshipMan and Carnotaur Admins. After this, Carnotaur made Owerslachlan a Discussions and Chat Moderator.
After some time, Crypman8 became active on the site again, and Carnotaur made the decision to make him a Discussions and Chat Moderator, along with Owerslachlan. After this, Carnotaur, BattleshipMan, and JoeyRains2000 (who was at the time unknowingly part of the Anti-CrashBash Cult), worked together to create a modified manual of style for the wiki. However, this never came to fruition.
Then, in July, after many months of preparation, the Jurassic Park Discord server was added to the site, helping expand the wiki to new lands. This was done with the help of Carnotaur, Crypman8, and Theferretman21. Around the same time, the staff worked together to bring the Jpfanon wiki closer to this one. This was implemented by Carnotaur, and it brought many more users.
One of the last things to occur was the brief return of BastionMonk, who came back to the site to say hello. The site also managed to become the tenth most popular film-focused Wiki.
In October 2019,Steamblust was made an admin to facilitate a redesign of many of the now outdated and poorly made aspects of this wiki's design. Most notably, the general theme and front page were improved. Right after this, the Wiki became partners with the Jurassic World Evolution, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, and Dinopedia Wikis. A few months later, Diabolusaurus127, a user from the Jurassic Park Fanon Wiki, came to finish the redesign of the Wiki. He updated sections and gave the finishing touches...
The fixing up of the site continued on with the help of the aforementioned users, and the Wiki was finished in March. A little later on, it was decided since Crypman8 was now gone, Dinoanime7 would take his place as secondary Moderator. Crypman8 ultimately disabled his user account and left the fandom network altogether. Kelly Eldridge, as usual, continued with his periodical spamming, but Carnotaur, in the hopes of bringing the community together, hosted a contest, where a user would make a Meme about Kelly Eldridge. Dinoanime7 was the winner of the contest. After this, Anonymous I.P Users we’re allowed back on the site. However, this was later changed back.
Later in August 2020 Dinosaurs20 was appointed a moderator due to his many contributions. Soon after this an admin Carnotaur requested Bureaucrat rights to further help the wiki. A poll was created by Dinosaurus1 on whether or not Carnotaur should be appointed. The poll of which was successful and, upon receiving his Bureaucrat status Carnotaur made Owerslachlan an admin and thanked all those who supported him.
One of the last occurrences of 2020 was the revising of the Forum Guidelines. Soon, the Wiki slowly went into a period of mild activity. Then out of the blue, Collector1 made a brief return.
Kelly made a return with his sock puppet accounts, although he didn't spam the feed, he still got into fights with other users. Several hours later, Kelly unexpectedly apologized to Carnotaur and the other admins, and promised to leave the wiki for good. However, this promise was broken months later as Kelly returned with his sockpuppet accounts.
During this time, the greatest controversy that did not involve Kelly occurred. A joke, and eventual various memes began spreading about users and people in general who shipped children characters in the Camp Cretaceous series, usually in fan-fictions. The issue had become a concern to the JP community as a whole, but Parkpedia took it to another level. Carnotaur, highly critical of the concept, made a large post made with the help of others. The post joked about putting shippers in a Gulag (a Camp Cretaceous shipper's prison), and added comical details in with it. The majority of the Wiki loved it, and the meme spread. Some did not, however, and the attention of the Wiki’s Manager, KylaraE was drawn to the sensation and somewhat infighting. She criticized Carnotaur for starting the movement, and said it was not fit for the Wiki. Carnotaur objected, but did delete some of the new posts spreading. He defended himself with the defense of the majority of the Wiki, but as Wiki Manager, she stated what he did was not allowed.
This was only the start; however, as tensions between Carnotaur and Concavenator Wrangler, who believed the former was abusing his power by posting off-topic material and the aforementioned shippers situation. The arguing and fighting went on, leading to Concavenator being banned. Carnotaur eventually unbanned him after feeling sorry and wished to have a truce. However, things only got worse afterwards when Concavenator went to KylaraE and reported Carnotaur for corruption. Concavenator gave KylaraE evidence, and she further scolded Carnotaur. He argued the claims were false and invalid. Concavenator was banned once more, and the decision was made by a community vote, which KylaraE stated it was not allowed, and the decision to ban Concavenator was not to be made by a community, even though it had been done before. Carnotaur ignored her, and the act was done. Concavenator was given one last chance, but monitored for erratic and aggressive behavior. He then left the site.
KylaraE then worked with the admins to make changes to the Guidelines.
When the drama had ended, Carnotaur announced he was leaving for a time, wishing to take a break. After some discussion a series of new moderators were promoted. The users Crocboi and Potatopotato2 were given admin rights, and Freddy jurassic park and Dragonsaber 73 appointed as moderators. Under this new staffing, the Guidelines were further changed from the simple ten rules to aid in present issues. Carnotaur returned soon afterwards and edited the guidelines a final time back to the ten rules, but designed it to be condensed but updated.
Things went well for the next several months, while FANDOM was given a new style. Eventually, Carnotaur announced he was going to take leave and work on two other projects of his, and left the Wiki in the hands of the other staff. During his absence, a vote was held concerning allowing off-topic posts to the forum. The vote went in favor at first, but then switched. In September, Kelly made one more return to Wiki with a sockpuppet. He asked for peace and forgiveness from the community. He was allowed to stay after some discussion and voting, but he soon lost his privilege due to unacceptable behavior.
Immediately following this, random users began posting disturbing images in the forum, claiming they received them from ‘An anonymous user.’ The Wiki went into an uproar, because the images had to do with Carnotaur, insinuating he was in danger or even dead. Carnotaur has not been active for a time, not just on the JP Wiki but elsewhere. Immediately, the community began brainstorming on what these were, and a total of four images appeared, the last one giving a clue to something. In the uproar, a user with Chinese characters as their name (meaning Hello Friends) appeared, and began posting on the site. During this, the user contacted FANDOM Staff, and claimed the images were unsafe, and that children should not be allowed to see them. No response came, but Carnotaur replied to the message, explaining kindly it was an ARG. But, the user had posted the link to the message on the forum, and the users saw the conversation, breaking the ARG. Hello Friends then questioned Carnotaur, saying they were suspicious of him using sock-puppet accounts to post the images. Carnotaur proved to him that other people had posted them for him, but the user stated he wished to do an IP check, to see if he was lying, claiming to have worked for FANDOM. Carnotaur declines the request to do so, and wished for the message to be deleted. It was, and Carnotaur went away again.
Not long after this, Hello Friends accused the users of racism, because he was Asian, and people had referred to him as the “Chinese Guy.” After long debate and arguing, the user unveiled themselves to be Kelly Eldridge, and he was banned.
Carnotaur returned, much to the Wiki’s joy, and everything went back to normal. His first action was to make a new poll on the issue with off-topic posts. The poll went in favor, and remained that way, gaining over 100 votes. The decisions was made to allowed such posts, but only once a day, and with exceptions.
Soon after, Carnotaur invited Kelly back to the wiki for a serious civil discussion, apologizing for the community's constant attention to him and saying he, Carnotaur, has matured. After this, he was reported by an anonymous user. At the same time, Kelly returned with a sockpuppet named R.I.P Joel and began causing trouble. He soon went to KylaraE complaining that he was being accused of being Kelly. Since Carntaur thought that Joel was telling the truth, he made an apology and a post for Joel, thinking this was a case of mistaken identity, but he was met with a demented response by Joel, to make it seem like he was being attacked, which he was not. It was later revealed by IP verification that R.I.P Joel was the same peron as Kelly Eldridge, and was on the wiki for over a year before causing trouble.
On October 6, 2021, Carnotaur was demoted of his bureaucrat rights because of the problem, by KylaraE by claims of him enticing Kelly to return and the community polls of blocking people and encouraging a “toxic atmosphere.“ All accusations were made by sock-puppets of Eldridge. He was also globally banned from FANDOM for one week, and is not to have any of his rights reinstated ever again. This demotion wasn't well recieved, as most users were confused and angry over Carnotaur's demotion, especially after the person who reported him is actually a troll, said Kelly. Major protesting occurred, with Kelly reporting to KylaraE of their “actions.” She then banned multiple users for complaining of Carnotaur’s banning. This decision affected Dinopedia, because some of those banned users were staff. When confronted, KylaraE states she had banned Kelly, and that based on his false claims of sock-puppeting, those users would have their individual bans lengthened. The Wiki went into a state of turmoil, and took a few days to calm down. Carnotaur returned over a week later. calling for unity and justice. At this time of October 23, 2021, CROCBOI suggested to Dinosaurus1 about the promotion of new administrators due to the absence of the others, and CROCBOI suggested two longtime users; Dinosaurs20 and KamikazePyro. These two were promoted to administrator status.
Shortly after Carnotaur's ban ended, and the wiki began to return to normal, Kelly returned once again as an account named THE NING IN THE KORTH, once again targeting users, but denying his identity.
In December of 2021, MindYerOwnParsley005 edited their account to reveal that they had not, in fact, been the wiki's founder, merely an impersonator. They explained that they had been in a bad place, and had made a few poor decisions, including impersonating Master Cheif before apologising and explaining that they would no longer be using that account. They then edited the History page with similar information, before becoming permanently inactive. They left their account as a reminder of their failure to themselves, and as a warning to others.
Later in the month of December, Kelly returned once again, with three confirmed sockpuppet accounts (being The Power Of The Sock I-Want-Dat-Blue-Meth, and Weed Jesus Rises) attacking members of the wiki, specifically Jwelegendary, acusing him of being a sockpuppet of Zilla199, and many other claims, that were innaccurate. Since the attacks, Kelly has not yet returned to the wiki.
In the final days of 2021, Carnotaur was then promoted to thread moderator in Dinopedia, striking fear in many members present on Dinopedia, and the Jurassic Park Wiki.
In early January, 2022, Carnotaur was then promoted to administrator on Dinopedia, even further increasing the fear of Dinopedia becoming a target.
Shortly after, on January 10, Carnotaur (by choice) had his Administrator rights revoked on Dinopedia. Jwelegendary was also promoted to moderator.
In early March, the wiki slowly turned into chaos again as mid-time member, Fallen-Angel Lailah was discovered of having “Fandom dated” many users, most of whom were members of the Wiki, and done many NSFW role playing sessions off wiki. She was later banned indefinitely on the wiki.
After feuding with many other members, namely Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis Dunkleosteus Terelli was banned for a month, on March 9th. As the active members of the community were relieved, Kelly took his chance to invade once again.
On March 10, amid the Ukraine crisis, Kelly made another return to the wiki, criticizing users for using the Ukrainian flag as the profile picture, as he assumed it was only “to keep up with the trend”. After abusing users, Jwelegendary messaged the account, informing him that a ban would be in process, when he revealed that he was actually Kelly, then threatened to send NSFW pictures of himself (which was never done).
After a long period of near inactivity, Mjmanella made his big return to the wiki to ban the Kelly alt, then Kylara went active to put a global block on the alt.
That same day, by suggestion of Jwelegendary, Very Inked messaged BattleshipMan to request moderator rights. The latter the messaged other mod Palaeontologica as Very Inked had asked for BattleshipMan to consult the latter. After a great reccomendation from Palaeontologica, BattleshipMan gave moderator rights to Very Inked. Subsequently, user Man with no name or life was recommended and promoted to thread moderator.
Around mid-april, Very Inked added the active on discord staff to a group chat, which inevitably caused many changes to the list. This included a major reform
After many edit controversies, the somewhat recently promoted Dinosaurus20 made is appearance in the off topic zone, after many accusations of unfair edit undos. The debate got incredibly heated, and ended with the communly decribed unfair banning of Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis, Jag D-Q, Savage Almond, and moderator Shieldon.BAH. They were all later unbanned on behalf of Potatopotato2. Dinosaurus20 was globally banned. Who effectuated the ban, and from what wiki, is still unknown. Moderator Palaeontologica quit the fandom, and was demoted. Once KylaraE then intervened in the situation, and began to investigate. Then, with evidence of harassment, Palaeontologica, Anjanath is best, and Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis were globally banned for 3 days by KylaraE.
Earlier, BattleshipMan suggested that He be promoted to bureaucrat, and that Matthaus101 should be promoted to content moderator. Dinosaurus1 took action on promoting the latter, on April 9, 2022. On April 11, BattleshipMan was then promoted to bureaucrat, now giving the wiki two bureaucrats, the first time since Carnotaur's demotion.
Come late April, the Dinopedia community (Much of whom are in JP wiki as well) became discontent with mod Jwelegendary's behavior, specifically with saying the same "Troll-esque" words too often in their discord server and in the chaos zone. This led to many users, specifically Kelbeam, Titanosaurus80, Savage Almond and other users is smaller capacities, to harass Jwelegendary. This inevitably ended with Savage Almond being banned globally
A few weeks later, Kelly struck again and reported several local mods to Kylara in an attempt to shame them and get them blocked. Kylara banned the alt, but not before he had caused some considerable damage to the mod's reputations using Discord screenshots, mainly Very Inked. Jwelegendary then came in to stop the alt from harassing other users, aswell as on Dunkleosteus Terellli's callout post on Community Central, which solidified his reputation with most of the community. In recompensation for not being banned, Inked offered a further solution, and let Jwelegendary back into the Dinopedia Discord server which ended the feud.
It was revealed around this time that Savage Almond had been ban evading with a sock puppet account, and his block was increased to three months by Kylara.
In the second week of May, Carnotaur made his glorious return not just to the wiki, but fandom itself! Very inked also decided to return, and applied for administration. This was very quickly granted. Shortly afterwards, Potatopotato2 was promoted to bureaucrat.
