Jurassic Park Wiki

The History Wall is meant to be a record of the events that have transpired here on the Jurassic Park Wiki since its creation back in 2006. However, since its creation, the History Wall has been plagued with inconsistent formatting, unnecessary and/or subjective entries, and a lack of key details/information surrounding major events. Therefore, these guidelines are here to help you format the perfect entry for the history wall.

Guidelines

1. Be objective and detailed

The goal of the history wall is to present an unbiased, detailed account of major events on the wiki. Therefore, users are encouraged to be straightforward and present things as they are. Make sure to name any users who played a significant role in/are the main focus of an event, and review and revise older entries that may seem biased from a third party's perspective.

2. Only record events that happen on the Jurassic Park Wiki

The history wall is intended to be a record of notable events that happened here on the wiki. Therefore, events that took place on other wikis are not to be recorded on the history wall.

3. Only record major or noteworthy events

Major and/or noteworthy events include user promotions, introduction of new wiki policies, major wiki drama that cause significant policy changes, new entries in the Jurassic Franchise, and any troll raid that causes some sort of major action to be taken by wiki staff in its aftermath.

4. Date events and include links

Record the date an event took place and add links to any and all threads related to the event to the history wall. That way, future readers who would like to dig deeper into an event can easily refer to the source thread and get a better understanding of what transpired. If you're unsure when the post/comment you are linking was made, refer to its history by tapping/hovering your cursor over the triple dots on the top right corner of your linked post/comment and going to "Post History" or "Reply History".

If a link you added is removed by Fandom's Content Review bot, do not add the link back in or try to revert the edit. More likely than not, the linked post had violated Fandom's Terms of Use (TOU) and was locked by a member of Fandom Staff as a result.

5. No entries on insignificant troll raids starting from April 2025 onwards

The wiki has had its fair share of trolls causing trouble on the wiki, and while previously, we've recorded their destructive antics on numerous entries, this has not only caused the history wall to be mostly a record of past troll raids, but also brought attention to the trolls themselves, which is what they thrive on. Therefore, starting from April 2025 onwards, entries on brief troll raids are prohibited on the history wall. The only entries exempted from this rule are entries written prior to April 2025, given they were written before these guidelines were set.

The only time this rule can be disregarded is if/when a troll raid has a profound effect on the wiki that leads wiki staff to take significant action to counteract future raids, like introducing new policies or promoting a user to a staff position to help monitor the wiki for trolls.

6. No entries on minor wiki drama

The History Wall is not a place to record minor wiki drama between users, as these events usually resolve on their own, and fairly quickly, through staff intervention and/or the involved parties settling the matter themselves.
