Kentrosaurus was a small Stegosaur that once roamed Africa. Its name means 'pointed lizard'.

Discovery[]

Only partial skeletons have been recovered for Kentrosaurus, and only in the Tenaguru Formation of Tanzania.

Paleoecology[]

The Tendaguru Formation consists of marine, tidal and low coastline environments. It was subtropical with seasonal rains and dry periods.
