King II is the twenty-fifth chapter in the Fourth Configuration. It shows King has survived the Tyrannosaurus chase and wishes to get off the island.

Howard King awakes, however is initially in a state of amnesia. He turns in pain and cannot find Lewis Dodgson only noticing the black box and open driver's door. He next hears a mechanical sound, reminding him of the boat he travelled on to arrive on Isla Sorna. More upsetting news besets him as he finds his watch damaged and as he moves towards the dashboard, he cannot recall what time the boat will leave, certain that the fisherman will not stay when it approaches dark.
Still in serious pain, King manages to get into the driver's seat, looks down into the foliage and finally spots Dodgson. The evil scientist was on his back, body appears to be crumpled with leg bent. King assumes his superior was dead due to the motionless body. He suddenly hears the sound closing and assumes it has to be an electric car, and Ian Malcolm's group. He now is encourage by the presence of other humans on the island and starts the jeep successfully. Finding the rear wheels spinning, he shifts it into four-wheel drive and manages to get back on to the road. He suddenly remembers the directions: the right path will lead back to the Tyrannosaurus rex nest, the other is where Malcolm's vehicle was moving. He follows the latter path, now trying to recall how to reach the Y-fork at the top of the hill and leave the island.
