Kronosaurus is an extinct genus of pliosaur that lived in the Early Cretaceous of Australia and Colombia. It was among the largest pliosaurs, and is appropriately named after the leader of the Greek Titans, Cronos. It had an elongated head, a short neck, a stiff body propelled by four flippers, and a relatively short tail. Current estimates put Kronosaurus at around 9–10 meters (30–33 feet) in length.

Behind the Scenes[]
Jurassic Park III[]
Kronosaurus never appeared in any films or novels, though it was planned for an early pitch for Jurassic Park III.[1]
Jurassic Park IV[]
For early renditions of Jurassic Park IV, Kronosaurus was going to be apart of the film. One of these marine reptiles would try and down the seaplane that the main character, Nick and his pilot Darwin were trying to escape the island with.
Jurassic World[]
From early storyboards, it appears that a Kronosaurus-like creature was meant to appear. However, it was presumably replaced with the Mosasaurus that appeared in Jurassic World.
