Lockwood's Sanctuary is an island where Benjamin Lockwood planned to bring the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar in an attempt to save them from the eruption of the island's volcano, Mt. Sibo.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom[]
Upon arriving at Lockwood Manor, Claire Dearing is briefed by Eli Mills and Benjamin Lockwood that they have an island that will serve as a refuge for the dinosaurs that have been rescued from Isla Nublar. However, Mills secretly intended to auction off the captured dinosaurs on the black market in order to gain funding for the creation and the perfection of the Indoraptor. Because of Mills' plans, the dinosaurs were not taken to the island, and the fate of this location remains unknown.
Jurassic World: Evolution[]
The island is available in the game in the Claire's Sanctuary DLC. It is one of the larger maps in the game, and the park is built along the coast. Dinosaurs unlocked here in the campaign are Polocanthus, Ouranosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Tyrannosaurus (If you completed a previous mission), Euoplocephalus and at most eight other species rescued from Isla Nublar.
Also on this Island you unlock the new feature of Paleobotany.
Species planned[]
Benjamin Lockwood planned of Claire to capture and transport at least sixteen (it was miscounted) species. They were...
- Allosaurus
- Ankylosaurus
- Apatosaurus
- Baryonyx
- Brachiosaurus
- Carnotaurus
- Compsognathus
- Gallimimus
- Parasaurolophus
- Pteranodon
- Sinoceratops
- Stegosaurus
- Stygimoloch
- Triceratops
- Tyrannosaurus
- Velociraptor
However, these species were selected by Eli Mills, who planned to sell them. This could explain the abundance of large carnivores and armoured herbivores.

Trivia[]
- The Biosyn Sanctuary ultimately fulfilled the purpose of Lockwood’s Sanctuary.
- In a cut scene, Maisie would be playing with some toy dinosaurs on the model of the island.
Behind The Scenes[]
- Andy Nicholson, a designer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, initially established that the size of the island was 20 x 20 km, contradicting it having subsequently said that its measurements were 15 x 15 km.
