Maelstrom 08 , also referred to as the Megaloceros defense project, is a purple Megaloceros with massive antlers that have "cracks" in which light will occasionally flash, and the animal itself has electricity pulsing from it when it steps, attacks, gets up, or moans. It is unknown of Maelstrom 08 is a hybrid or simply a genetically enhanced Megaloceros. Its only appearance so far is Jurassic World: The Game.

Maelstrom 08 was added to the game on December 25, 2017, as an area boss for Christmas.
Gameplay
The Maelstrom 08 starts out with 6,205 HP but only 148 damage per hit to possibly make Maelstrom 08 easier to fight against. Each time it is beaten, it revives with twice the amount of HP and damage. It repeats this until it defeats every dinosaur/Cenozoic animal in the player's party. The purpose of this battle is not to defeat the Maelstrom 08, but to deal as much damage as possible.
The best strategy is deal as much possible damage to different to defeating enemies in the live arena. It is best to reserve at first and attack heavily since Maelstrom 08 blocks much less than opponents in the live arena due to the fact that he can not lose. It is also wise to have a meat shield and 2 heavy attackers to deal damage while the meat shield absorbs damage and buys time to reserve actions. It is also adviced to be more defensive to protect from Maelstrom 08's heavy hits and since Maelstrom 08 reserves more and blocks less since he can not lose.
