Mesonyx is a genus of extinct carnivorous mammal from the Eocene of the United States and China. Its name is the origin of the name of its group, the mesonychids. Unlike most carnivorous mammals, the toes of Mesonyx ended in small hooves.
Mesonyx DNA is said to be the reason that the InGen Andrewsarchus clones look similar to outdated mesonychid reconstructions of the animal in one of the animal's evolution facts. However, Mesonyx is incorrectly mentioned as being a "larger relative" of Andrewsarchus, when, in reality, Mesonyx is smaller and not a close relative of Andrewsarchus.
