Mount Sibo is an active volcano located in the northern part of Isla Nublar.

Being present on the island, Mount Sibo did not make an appearance in Jurassic Park or Jurassic World, but eventually appearing in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, as the main and new threat to dinosaur life. 

The volcano was close to the valley of the Gyrospheres, and was facing a cliff, not far from what would be the east pier from which materials are transported.

History

Mount Sibo may have served as a source of power for some facilities on the island for Jurassic Park, with the use of the geothermal energy it spawned, but it's not known for sure what it fed.

In February 2017, a month before the Dinosaur Protection Group was established, the Costa Rican Institute of Volcanology (CRIV) reported that Mount Sibo had become active again for the first time since it was discovered in 1525.

The volcano was reclassified as active in September after a private helicopter illegally flew too close to the island and its passengers spotted several ruptures of magma from the mountain peak. The following month, on October 5, Mt. Sibo's Volcanic Status Level (VSL) was set to MAG 03 for significant activity.

The volcano reactivation process would trigger various reactions to the unstable ecosystem of Isla Nublar, as can be known through The Dinosaur Protection Group reports or so it could be seen in situations set within the island while it was abandoned.

Before triggering the eruption, the volcano would drop ash and toxic gases over some areas of the island, which would directly affect the life of the dinosaurs. Large fields could be covered in ashes until they were wiped and maintain areas in great darkness while the environment was forced to clean up, while dinosaur skeletons and corpses could be left in view, but not a very pausible attraction to carnivores.

The gases would affect the dinosaurs developing extreme difficulties breathing and problems with their lungs, as well as zero access to drinking water nearby, as contamination caused by contact between substances expelled by the volcano would result in contaminated water, endangering large numbers of species. Not only that, but also endangering fish eaters, such as Baryonyx and Suchomimus.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Mount Sibo began to erupt during the events of the film, as Owen Grady, Claire Dearing and multiple other personnel returned to begin a rescue operation to save the dinosaurs. While the island was rocked by tremors consistently, eventually, lava began to force its way to the surface.

Claire and Franklin Webb encountered a Baryonyx underground, as lava began to consume a sub-ground level outpost, with Owen suffering from near complete paralysis from a tranquilizer, while lava began to overrun the region he was left behind in.

Once Claire, Franklin, and Owen all reunited, the volcano began to erupt in full force, causing a large, multi-species stampede, with a pyroclastic flow forming. Said flow would run right to the island's cliff, forcing any dinosaurs and animals caught in its path to jump, including the three people left behind.

As the trio recovered from their jump, a barrage of volcanic rock from the still continuing eruption forced them to hijack an abandoned gyrosphere to escape. In spite of their escape, a single Brachiosaurus was left behind at the ship's dock, and watched as the flows of fire and ash consumed it, leaving Mount Sibo, and Isla Nublar in a volcanic inferno. It’s assumed that the volcano destroyed the island and all land-bound life on it. Some species must have left their destination to Mount Sibo, but it is not known exactly which they were after the large eruption.

The Tun-Si believed this volcano to be the creator of all things and worshipped it. In Jurassic Park: The Game, Nima Cruz points it out as she was having a conversation with Gerry Harding. Accordingto Nima she believed that the animals of the world built it.
