In the chapter Nedry, Dennis Nedry is driving through the park to get to the East dock to deliver the embryos to Dodgson, but the storm is slowing him down and it isn't long before he runs into trouble. This is the third chapter of the Fourth Iteration.
Plot[]
Dennis Nedry is still driving the jeep through the tropical storm, furious that his plan may fail because of it. The chapter details how this deal would make him rich, and how Nedry was real careful planning every little detail, thus, further revealing the real reason Nedry arranged to meet with Dodgson at the San Fransisco Airport was so he could record their conversation of the deal on tape, sending a copy along with the embryos as leverage in case Dodsgon attempted to rip him off at all.
Minutes pass, and the East Dock is still nowhere in sight, even though he should have been there by that time. He suddenly hits a dead end by a dark concrete barrier miles away from the East dock and is stranded. He gets out to familiarize himself with his surroundings. He hears gurgling sounds, and believes he is by the ocean, only to find himself by a river.
Unable to identify where he is and knowing that time had ran out, Nedry miserably gives up and goes back to the jeep, hoping he could still salvage his plan by contacting Dodgson and rearranging the embryo drop-off the next night once he returned to the control room. He suddenly hears a thunderous sound like a dinosaur as well as a small hooting noise coming through the underbrush and he rushes to the jeep as fast as he can.
The dinosaur catches up, a small one of yellow with black spots and v-shaped crests. It didn't move but gave another small hooting sound. Nedry never took the tour so he didn't know which dinosaur it was, but it seemed harmless after it suddenly stopped. Nedry assumes that the jeep's headlights had frightened it.
Suddenly the dinosaur spits at Nedry's chest, he touches it curiously, but finds it is making his skin tingle and burn like acid. Then the dinosaur spits in his eyes, blinding him. Then he feels a pain in his chest and feels something wet and surprisingly warm in his hands. To his horror, he realizes it is his own intestines, for the dinosaur had torn him open. Afterwards Nedry then feels his head in between the dinosaur's jaws and as he is dying, he gives a final wish that it would all be ended soon.
