Parasaurolophus was one of the many dinosaurs present on Isla Sorna, and were created by Ingen sometime during the 80s. It is unknown what genetic revision these dinosaurs were a part of, nor were they ever part of the Nublar resort, so it is unknown where these animals were planned to be displayed.
The dinosaurs were described as being a dark greenish color and are among the few dinosaurs to have their physical appearance shown on the island map and most additions of the novel.
The Lost World[]
In The Lost World, a herd of these animals live near the river close to a Apatosaurus herd and could be visible from the gatherers high in a symbiotic relationship with the larger dinosaurs. The large Apatosaurus give protection, whereas the smaller and weaker Parasaurolophus have better eyes and can warn the dinosaurs for predators.
In the eleventh chapter in the Fourth Configuration of the novel, Richard Levine studies the creatures from the High Hide. the dinosaurs begin calling to one another, and Levine decides to try and mimic the calls, only to attract the dinosaurs and get the moving into the forest. Levine followed by tractor dinosaurs to where they find them urinating and defecating in particular areas finding Procompsognathus eating their feces.
