The chapter Plans is essentially Grant and Sattler investigating Hammond's architectural plans for his island in Costa Rica; A hotel, a Visitor Building, small, bunkerlike buildings, and tennis courts.
Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler receive material sent from John Hammond at the InGen Corporation, and begin to read through it. The packages were marked "INDUSTRIAL SECRETS DO NOT COPY". The packets covered an entire map of Isla Nublar, as well as individual blueprints of specific buildings. Grant and Sattler then oversee the CAST program (computer-assisted sonic tomography) to view unexcavated dinosaurs—in this case, a Velociraptor. However, their project is cut short, and they have to leave to catch their flight.
