Proceratosaurus was a primitive coelurosaurian theropod that lived in England, Europe in the Middle Jurassic Period. It looked somewhat similar to the later Ceratosaurus, for which it is named after, but only due to it also having a horn-like crest.

Despite its name, it is not related to Ceratosaurus, but to the later Tyrannosaurus. Overall, Proceratosaurus was a much more gracile and delicate animal. Recent research has speculated with good supporting evidence that Proceratosaurus is the earliest tyrannosauroid.

Since only part of Proceratosaurus' crest is preserved, it's possible it had a crest similar to Guanlong, Kileskus and Sinotyrannus.

Story

Proceratosaurus DNA was successfully collected by InGen and viable embryos have been created, through the animal never made it past that stage. However, a paddock was created before the 1993 incident.

Proceratosaurus was among the many dinosaur embryos that Dennis Nedry stole from the Cold Storage Room at the beginning of the 1993 Isla Nublar Incident.[1]

As confirmed by the Dinosaur Protection Group, the only viable embryos on Nublar were all destroyed due to water damage to the cool room during the incident, and so all of InGen's DNA samples were lost during the evacuation of Site B. Its status was set to 'terminated' until new DNA samples were recovered.
