Proganochelys is an extinct species of turtle that lived back during the Triassic period along side the first dinosaurs. It had a tiny armor over most of its body. It was not able to hide its head in its shell but instead in is cover in spikes so it can detour predators. Proganochelys is the second oldest turtle in the fossil record. It is found in Europe during the Triassic period. They where herbivores.
