The red king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) is a species of king crab that is native to the cold waters of the north Pacific Ocean, but was introduced to the Barents Sea by the Soviet Union to provides a new and valuable catch in Europe during the 1960s. Heavily targeted by fisheries, but not endangered. It faces many predators and its diet consists of small animals and carcasses.

In 2022, the crab fishing boat Saga caught several red king crabs somewhere in the Bering Sea, when the Mosasaurus came to steal the crabs from the baited traps, causing the boat to turn over.
