A beautiful but deadly addition to Jurassic Park” -Richard Kiley addressing Dilophosaurus

Richard Kiley was the primary automated narrator voice heard on the CD ROMs in the tour cars, he was the tour guide for the park, identifying to passengers the animal they were seeing as well as information about it. The staff at Jurassic Park "spared no expense" in hiring him.

Trivia[]

  • Kiley was mentioned as the tour guide in the novel edition, then accepted the role of "playing himself" for the film version.
  • On the rides at Universal Studios: Hollywood and Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Richard Kiley voices the Jungle River Cruise, an attraction mentioned in the first film and novel.
  • At some point during the writing process, (possibly at the worry that Kiley was not available) James Earl Jones was considered for the automated tour guide. As well as “the guy who does the sports documentaries” as stated by Ed Regis though it is unclear who he’s talking about.
