The rufous hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) is a species of hummingbird native to North America. Its range is the coast of western Canada and Alaska during summer, and westcentral Mexico during winter. The males and the females are different from colors.
The main diet of the rufous hummingbird consists of flower nectar, but it has also been recorded to eat insects. It drinks nectar with an extensible tongue. The beak is long, straight and slender because of this.
