Spiclypeus (meaning "spike shield") is a genus of ceratopsian dinosaur from the family of chasmosaurine that was fully described in 2016. The first specimen was discovered in 2005 by a nuclear physicist. The specimen was sold to the Canadian Museum of Nature as of February 2015. Spiclypeus lived during the Late Cretaceous period in what is now Montana, in the United States. The fossils were specifically from the Judith River Formation, an area that contained many other ceratopsians like Medusaceratops and Avaceratops.
