Stun guns[1] were non-lethal weapons used by InGen shortly before the 1993 Isla Nublar Incident. They appeared in the 1993 movie Jurassic Park.

History[]

In June 1993, workers at InGen's theme park Jurassic Park attempted to relocate a Velociraptor into a holding pen. Overseeing this operation was the park's game warden Robert Muldoon. Members of Jurassic Park Animal Control, armed with stun guns and rifles, provided security. When the Velociraptor broke free and attacked gatekeeper Jophery Brown, the security detail attempted to use their stun guns to shock the animal into submission. This proved to be of little use, and the dinosaur continued attacking until it was finally dissuaded with gunfire. By that stage, Jophery had been mortally wounded.[2]

Behind the Scenes[]

The stun guns used in the film were non-functioning custom-built props. They were constructed from Mares Spear Guns with additional components[3].
