Michio Kaku[]
I don't think that Michio Kaku is a good authority for this subject. He is a physicist, not a biologist or a paleontologist. If we use him as an example of someone who says we can recreate dinosaurs, critics may find that as an example of argumentum ad verecundiam, a common logical fallacy. - I don't know Michio Kaku's background. Maybe, like Carl sagan, he is a homo universalis and knows about this stuff too. Darwin wasn't a biologist, he studied theology. Richard Dawkins isn't a evolutionary biologist, his expertise is in behavioral biology. Alfred Wegener wasn't a geologist. Etcetera. BastionMonk (talk) 13:03, September 27, 2013 (UTC)
This RationalWiki article also says that Michio is good inside his field, but embarrassing in others. From what I can tell, RationalWiki is good for debunking all sorts of pseudoscience and "woo". So I don't think his video should be linked in this article. (talk) 04:52, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know the credibility of RationalWiki. We don't use Michio Kaku one time in the article as evidence that cloning dinosaurs is possible. The article only says that the internet contains contradicting views about cloning dinosaurs by scientists. I used Michio Kaku just as an example. We never quote Michio Kaku as an expert on the topic. Michio Kaku might be wrong, but it doesn't matter in this context. Ofcourse, if you can find a video in which a biologist says we can clone dinosaurs, we better use that one. Until that day, we keep Michio Kaku. BastionMonk (talk) 08:00, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
