Specific details on certain Dinosaurs and certain Fence types[]
I've been working on the JPOG Wiki today after I decided to help around at the site by adding more in-depth specifics as to certain game mechanics. During today, I figured out that the fences and the way certain Dinosaurs react to them when rampaging is something to note. I've done some testing to find that certain rampaging Dinosaurs WILL attempt to break down (Or Climb, for the Velociraptor's case) their required Security Fence. I've concluded that:
-Triceratops, the only rampaging Herbivore in the game, will not attempt to break down a Medium Security Fence.
-Velociraptor will "test" the fences for weakpoints in the Medium Security Fence, usually either shocking itself OR succeeding in climbing over it, and if the latter happens, remembers the exact location of that specific fence. It also never attacks the same section of fence twice, and will not attempt to climb a High Security Fence at all.
-Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Carcharadontosaurus will attempt to break down a High Security Fence, and typically survive and succeed at that. Allosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus on the other hand, will make no such attempts.
-How Ceratosaurus and Dilophosaurus can get past a Low Security Fence is a mystery for now, since neither of those two can rampage and simply go into a coma if you use the rampage code. Neither make any attempt at that kind of fence under relatively normal conditions either, as I've kept Ceratosaurus behind Low Security fencing LONG before I knew it required Medium Security. The fact all the other Dinosaurs that require a fence type higher than Low all can rampage is something else that's odd about those two.

I usually just make one big high-security fence splitting the island in two. I put the visitors on one side, and the dinos on the other side. That way you don't really have to worry about what fences certain dinosaurs can or can't have. CyborgIguana (talk) 19:10, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
