The High Hide V is the tenth chapter in the Fifth Configuration. The raptor pack attacks the High Hide, a main character is eaten alive and Arby is locked into the cage and taken away.
Plot[]
As continued from the eighth chapter in the Fifth Configuration, the velociraptor pack attacks the High Hide, with Eddie amazes that they can jump eight feet high. Richard Levine was more focused on their skills - they quickly learnt how to climb the structure and never gave up when they fall back. Eddies pushes Kelly Curtis and Arby Benton into the middle of the High Hide, threw a flare at the raptors then yanks an aluminium bar from the High Hide and attempts the strike the nearest raptor. The raptor however grabs Eddie's shirt and despite Levine yanking him backwards, the raptor still clings onto his shirt. Levine yells at the children to head up to the roof and while Kelly manages to, Arby is frozen with fear. Eddie still strikes the raptors, however, unfortunately, he is still near the edge of the High Hide and as a raptor pulls at the bar, Eddies loses his balance and falls over, eaten by the raptors. Arby tries to climb up yet kicks Levine and falls down.
Thorne has unlatched the cable connecting the trailer to the jeep and rushes towards the structure. He spots Sarah Harding getting on the bike, armed with a Lindstradt rifle and Ian Malcolm tells Thorne to go and assures them he is fine. Meanwhile, Kelly cannot spot where Arby is. Suddenly, Levine hears Arby shouting at the raptors and he in the cage which is suppose the protect people against any dinosaur, attempting to lock it. Raptors bite at the cage's bars while one particular one snatches the key from the lock. The cage is suppose to be secured, however, the raptor's constant gnawing tears it away. Arby is injured while the raptors roll the cage away from the High Hide. Thorne spots raptors finishing off Eddie's body and both the cage and Eddie are rolled into the game trail covered by the forest.
Thorne yells to wait for Kelly as she tries to inform him what she saw and he and Levine drive, chasing after the raptors. Levine assures the doubtful Thorne that the game trail is wide enough despite the foliage closing of them and Thorne moans, wondering how the cage could break free. Levine chastises Thorne for the rough ride who in turn yells they cannot lose Arby. They cannot spot the cage and Levine gives up, saying Arby is gone while Thorne, scolds him, saying the boy didn't give up to find Levine.
Sarah arrives and Kelly recounts that the men didn't listen to her - one raptor stole the key for the lock for the cage. Sarah learns quickly that Kelly can't ride a motorcycle and Kelly has to hold on to both Sarah and the Lindstradt as the scientist wildly speeds after the raptor. Kelly's daunting task is to shoot the raptor.
Goof[]
As mentioned before, raptors were not so intelligent, see this, this and this. Neither was probably possible that they could jump so high.
