- —Alan Grant(src)
The Bull was a male Tyrannosaurus rex that lived on Isla Sorna in 2001. He briefly encountered the rescue party led by Alan Grant before coming face-to-face with the Spinosaurus, where he was ultimately killed in the ensuing fight.
History[]
Origins[]
Bull was born sometime before 2001 on Isla Sorna, The exact origin of this individual is unknown.
Jurassic Park III[]
The research party led by Dr. Alan Grant encountered the male T. rex eating a Parasaurolophus.
Grant tried to avoid the T. rex by standing still, but the Tyrannosaur noticed them and gave chase, bringing him into contact with The Spinosaurus. The two theropods sized each other up and began to fight. The Tyrannosaurus rex was the first to attack in the dual, biting down on the neck of the Spinosaurus and bringing it down to the forest floor. The Spinosaurus regained balance, however, and began to snap at his flanks. After the Spinosaurus swiped at him, the T. rex rammed his opponent head first, resulting in the Spinosaurus biting down on the T. rex's neck. As the Rex roared in agony, the Spinosaurus, with support from its arms, proceeded to snap its neck. The T. rex's body collapsed to the ground, nearly crushing Dr. Grant while escaping. The Spinosaurus then claimed the carcass of its fallen foe triumphantly.
Physical Characteristics[]
This Tyrannosaurus was similar in appearance to the Tyrannosaur Buck from The Lost World: Jurassic Park, although this individual had brighter green coloration, especially when it came to the CGI model. According to ILM's Jurassic Park III Comparative Size Chart and Dinosaur Turntables, Bull reached a length of 11.3 meters (37 feet), a height of 4.4 meters (14.5 feet), and Glen McIntosh stated his weight was 8 tons (16,000 pounds)[1], making him slightly smaller than other adult Tyrannosaurus.

Trivia[]
- Bull is the first Tyrannosaur to have died.
- The animatronic for this T. rex was the same model used for the Tyrannosaur Buck. It was reskinned and slightly updated by Stan Winston Studio.
- A common fan theory persists that this T. rex was Junior from The Lost World: Jurassic Park; however, Matt Winston shot this theory down during the 2015 Jurassic Party.[2]
- The maquette for Bull shows a key difference between him and the second film's male T. rex—Bull had stripes going down his arms, whereas Buck did not.
- Junior also had identical coloration to his father, Buck, which would have been maintained as he grew. This means the brighter hues seen in Bull indicate he is a different individual. The InGen list for Isla Sorna, released in the viral marketing for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, states there were seven Tyrannosaurus cloned in the late 1980s. One, Rexy, was shipped off to Isla Nublar in 1989, two others were seen in the form of Buck and Doe in the second film, and Bull may have been one of the other adults from the same batch.
- Despite being commonly passed off as fact in discussions, Bull being a "sub-adult" or "juvenile" is unsupported by any official material from the franchise, and in fact is contradicted by both the third film's script where he is described as "fully grown" and the ILM size chart as he is not noted to be anything other than an adult animal (compared to the juvenile Pteranodon on the same chart). Canon consultant Jack Ewins has also confirmed it was a fully grown adult. This fan theory was started on fan boards in the early 2000s as a way of softening the blow and excusing away the victory of the Spinosaurus over Bull.
- Contrary to the ILM size chart and Dinosaur Turntables from the DVD release, the Jurassic Park III website and merchandise lists Bull at 12 meters long (40 feet), although this material is non-canon.
