Overview

(This works best on a Laptop or Desktop computer)

Hello to the Jurassic Park wiki community!

As the community awaits the third season Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and the 2022 release of Jurassic World: Dominion we are constantly reviewing ways to improve the Wiki and of course, user experiences. One thing we are currently working on (as proposed by Battleshipman), is phasing out page tabbers. To do this we will be setting up the tabbers above the page itself. However we need your help!

This task requires you to use the Source Editor which (especially for new users) can be intimidating at first. Fortunately I've created a step by step guide to help. I'll be setting tabbers as I write this and speaking as someone who sucks at computers (and has little experience with dealing with codes), I'm sure this easy to follow guide can help.

Steps

  1. The first (and most straightfoward) step is to open the page you want to set up tabbers above, for this demonstration I'll use Diplodocus. Hover the mouse over the drop down arrow next to the 'Edit' button and select 'Edit source'
  2. Now that you're ready to edit, go to the Ankylosaurus page (which already has the tabbers instaled), using the editor Copy + Paste' the entire TABS' section into the first line of the page and click publish.
  3. You have now set up the tabbers, the original page will retain the information for the 'Movies' section. Follow the next step to add information to the 'Games', 'Toys', 'Cards' and 'Books' section.
  4. Select the required section and Copy + Paste the 'TABS' section into the first line. Now 'Copy + Paste' the required information (into the section) from the original page, add links to all titles, and add the respective categories. You can do this manually or by typing it out (see below).
  5. Once you are done all remove the information you copied and pasted from the original page.
  6. Repeat steps four and five until you have a 'Movies', 'Games', 'Toys', 'Cards' and 'Books' section.

Notes

  • Adding links is just highlighting the text with your mouse and selecting the 'Link' button, make sure you choose the appropriate link.
  • You can type out categories rather than add them manually, here is an example of one [[Category:Sauropods]].
  • The 'Copy + Paste' combination may not work depending on the device used.
  • This guide works best if your are using a Desktop or Laptop device.
  • Not every dinosaur has dinosaur 'Cards'.
  • Only set up tabbers above the page for dinosaurs that have appeared in movies and human characters.
