There's something going on Wikia-wide that I feel we should all know about.

It seems that Books LLC has been taking categories and content on some wikis, assembling them, and then putting them up for sale on Amazon.

Yeah, really.

And the Jurassic Park Wiki has been one of the ones affected! See this link:

Thing is, there's nothing we can do about it, cause it's legal. Because of the CC-BY-SA license that Wikia puts under all of its users' work, with the proper attribution Books LLC can do this.

Since it's not worth explaining everything here, here are some additional pages explaining the matter.

Just letting everybody know of the issue.

However, we may be able to avoid this from happening to us. Take a look at this quote:

"Except where otherwise specified, the text on Wikia sites is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License 3.0 (Unported) (CC-BY-SA)."[[|src]])

Perhaps the wiki may want to start to use another licensing system, i.e usable with permission instead of usable with attribution. I'm not good with the different types of licensing but I can do some digging.

Obviously, we'll need a community decision on this, if we want to attempt anything of the sort. Please comment.
